We are pleased to present the Zentrum für Sicherheitstechnik (ZS, Centre for Safety Engineering) of the Berufsgenossenschaft der Bauwirtschaft (German institution for statutory accident insurance and prevention for the construction industry):
"A safe product is tantamount to a reduction of accidents" - this is the principle underlying the commitment of accident insurance institutions in the fields of testing and certification as well as standardisation of work equipment and resources.
In 1992, the Berufsgenossenschaft der Bauwirtschaft established the Zentrum für Sicherheitstechnik (ZS) for the field of personal protective equipment (PPE).
In addition to testing and certification of personal protective equipment as well as audits and certification of quality management systems, the scope of activity of ZS includes technical examinations, studies and research projects, the participation in standardisation bodies both on a national and European level as well as consultancy services for companies and supervisors with a view to improve product safety.
These activities are carried out in order to comply with the statutory mandate in accordance with SGB VII (volume 7 of the German Social Code) and in order to prevent occupational, school and commuting accidents, occupational diseases and work-related health risks.
